About

Second generation. Same standards.

Whitlock Painting Co. is a fictional company invented for this ProjectWon demonstration — but this is exactly the kind of story a real About page should tell.

The story

It started with Earl’s ladder.

June Whitlock’s father, Earl, painted Asheville houses for thirty years — the kind of painter neighbors waved down in the driveway because word-of-mouth was his entire marketing department. June spent her high-school summers sanding trim in his wake and learning his one unbreakable rule: the prep is the paint job.

In 2011 she bought her own van, borrowed Earl’s extension ladder — it still hangs in the shop — and started Whitlock Painting Co. with one helper and a promise: firm quotes, clean sites, no excuses.

The blue-tape walkthrough started on her very first solo job. A client kept apologizing for pointing out a thin spot, so June handed her the roll of tape and said, “Mark anything. I’d rather fix it than hear you apologize.” Fourteen years later, the tape hand-off ends every Whitlock job — and the invoice still doesn’t exist until the last piece comes down.

Today the crew is nine painters — all W-2, no day-labor subs, most five-plus years in. Small enough that June still walks every quote herself; big enough to paint your whole exterior in a week.

  • 14years in Asheville
  • 9W-2 painters, zero subs
  • 3,000+rooms painted (sample figure)
  • 0invoices sent before the tape comes down

What we believe

Three rules, no asterisks.

Prep is the paint job.

Paint doesn’t hide a bad surface; it frames it. We patch, sand, prime, and caulk like the finish coat depends on it — because it does.

Same crew, start to finish.

The painters who start your job finish your job. No rotating strangers, no mystery subs — names you’ll know by day two.

The tape comes last.

You hold the tape on the final walkthrough, we fix what you mark the same day, and only then does the invoice exist. Since 2011, in that order.

Meet June at your front door.

A walkthrough takes about forty minutes: measure, scope, honest advice, and a firm number in your hand before the van leaves the curb.
